500 Years of Black London

The walk lasts between one and a half to two hours, depending on the itinerary and the composition of the group. Walks start at Westminster Tube station and terminates at Covent Garden or Seven Dials depending on the concentration of pedestrians.

 

Itinerary

Ignatius Sancho - 'John Blanke' and Henry VIII - The history of the Black guardsmen - stories of the Black Gordon Rioters, 1780 - 'Black Sailors and Nelson's Navy - Olaudah Equiano and the 'Sons of Africa' - Mary Seacole - Robert Wedderburn and Black Covent Garden in the 18th century.

 

All tours are priced at £8 per adult and £5 for under 18s.
